Portland Audubon launches crowdfunding campaign to upgrade wildlife sanctuary and rehab center. The public phase aims to raise $800,000 by Sept. 30.

Portland Audubon needs your help to help reach their goal of $3.5 million for vital improvements needed to rebuild and modernize its Cornell Campus and Wildlife Care Center. They have raised $2.6 million to date and are seeking support to raise the final $800,000 of their goal.

For a century, Portland Audubon’s headquarters in Portland has served as a hub for its work in education, advocacy, wildlife rehabilitation, and has engaged hundreds of thousands of visitors who continue to explore the free wildlife sanctuary.

A vision for a new Wildlife Care Center
Last renovated in 1988, the only wildlife hospital in the Portland metro region cares for 4,000 injured and orphaned birds and other wildlife annually. To serve the growing needs of the community, Portland Audubon is rebuilding the Wildlife Care Center -- doubling its size and advancing its medical care.

An on-site surgical suite, increased capacity for staff and volunteers, and other major improvements means being able to expand care for wildlife and provide increased support to help the public humanely resolve conflicts with wildlife.
